Now in its sixth year The Carcoar Cup continues to go from strength to strength attracting runners from around the country as well as from overseas. Catering to entrants of varying abilities the event kicks off on Sunday morning November 6 with the Ultra Marathon (60km) at 7am. Residents and CVA members are being invited to discuss plans for next year’s Australia Day Fair. The CVA will be holding a special meeting at the School of Arts at 4pm on Tuesday, November 1. The Carcoar and District Historical Society held a raffle at IGA Blayney recently to raise funds for the restoration works at Stoke Stable Museum. The raffle, for two prizes, was drawn on 13 October 2016. First prize: a Barbecue and Accessories, was won by Loretta Kervin. Second prize: a Digital Photo Frame, was won by Elaine Kind. The Carcoar Show committee is looking forward to seeing everyone out at the showground this Saturday October 29. Well done to the members of the Carcoar School of Arts who helped out with the garage sale last Saturday. The event raised $1,850. All proceeds from the sale will go to the hall restoration project. Last Sunday when The Enterprise Store closed its doors one couldn't help but feel that it was the end of an era. For almost forty seven years Colleen Howarth (along with her husband Charlie) has provided locals and visitors with their daily provisions.
