

Give Peace A Chance
This Saturday the Carcoar community and friends of Shalom will join over 5,000 people from all around the world, taking steps for peace. May 4 is recognised as World Labyrinth Day and to mark the occasion Shalom will be 'Walking as One at 1' in the afternoon. Last year, there were participants in over 35 countries and this year, given the need for peace in the world organisers are hoping to get even more people to be part of a rolling wave of peaceful energy as the earth turn


Celebrity Chef at Carcoar
Better Homes and Gardens celebrity chef Ed Halmagyi better known as "Fast Ed" filmed a segment for the popular TV show at Carcoar last week. Utilising the iconic railway station which overlooks the town Ed was in Carcoar as part of his recipe road trip tour around country NSW.


Hot Time in the Old Town!
The Carcoar Show Committee have been hard at work removing the dead wood from some of the Showground trees and would like to invite one and all to attend a bonfire night to be held at the Carcoar Showground on the June long weekend. Details will be released soon so save the date for what will be a great community event.


Dig In For Down to Earth
Along with a fantastic range of plants the Down to Earth Gardening Expo and Plant Fair will feature a range of stalls offering quality gardening products. From manure to mulch and tools to twine D2E will have it covered at the Carcoar Showground on Sunday April 28. Entry is $5 and includes a tour of the historic Carcoar Hospital Museum. Proceeds from the expo will go towards the ongoing restoration of this fantastic building.


National Trust Open Day
They came, they saw, they admired. Despite gloomy conditions history enthusiasts took time to tour historic properties in the district over the weekend. Organised by the Central West National Trust, the tour took in historic houses and buildings in Millthorpe, Carcoar and Errowanbang. Precipitation Builds Anticipation
