The AGM of the Carmanhurst Villages Association is to be held at the Carcoar School of Arts at 6 pm on Thursday 12 October 2017. All positions will be declared vacant. Mechanical Marvels of Medicine
The new exhibition being assembled at Carcoar Hospital Museum will explore the history and innovation of machines and mechanical devices from the Museum's collection. Many items on display will be rare early examples of today's medical equipment,with some items belonging in the "Quack Medicine" category. Also on display, will be a sneak-peek at the recent donation to the Museum of items from Duncan's Pharmacy in Carcoar c. 1893.


A Bridge Too Far?
From 25 September work on replacing the old Coombing Street bridge will begin. Construction is expected to take up to 10 weeks. The new bridge will include a pedestrian walkway. Sport and Recreation to Strengthen Community
We all know about the benefits of sport and physical activity so it's great to hear that Carcoarians will benefit from the formation of the Carcoar Sport and Recreation Club which aims to improve the health and well-being of local residents. CSRC secretary Adam Lowe said that sport has always been a major part of the town and that with the formation of this new club he hoped that it would help 'build' the community. Already forty members have signed up to the new association


Affable Larrikan Dies
Condolences to the friends and family of Lucas “Luke” Dowell who was killed in a single vehicle accident last week at Wantabadgery, near Junee. “Luke” was a member of the Gold Trails Reenactments Group which performed at last year's Australia Day Festival held at Carcoar. Locals and visitors to the event will no doubt remember Luke's lively bushranger portrayal and his ability to connect with the crowd. The Carcoar and District Historical Society will be holding a 'Show and Tell' evening on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.
