

Farewell to a 'Good Guy'
Sad news with the passing of yet another Carcoar identity. John Thompson was born into a farming family and spent his early years growing up in and around Cowra. He became a household name in Sydney in the mid sixties when he became one of the first “Good Guys” at 2SM along with Mike Walsh and Bob Rogers and later as one of the “1110 men” at Sydney's 2UW, one of the most innovative radio stations in Australia during the mid 1960's through to the early 1970s. Carcoar Show to Celebrate Milestone
With the 140th Carcoar Show just around the corner, the committee is looking for any photos you may have of past shows to use in this year's program. The Year In Review
At the recent Annual General Meeting of The Carcoar Village Association president Jill Cole reflected on the achievements of the past twelve months. As her report shows Carcoar has had a very successful past year and the CVA has set a positive agenda for the next twelve months with a number of new projects already underway. Christmas In July
On Saturday July 15 the Lyndhurst RSL sub branch hosted 'Christmas In July' at the Carcoar School of Arts. Around thirty RSL members and guests attended the event which included a three course luncheon as well as raffles and special prizes. A big thank you to Kim and Phil Morecome who did the catering.
