An Unexpected Visitor

The volunteers at the Carcoar Hospital Museum had an unwelcome visitor on Thursday. The ladies tell me that he emerged from the fireplace in the office whilst they were having lunch and left through the hole he came in without paying. The museum building has hosted owls, possums and an echidna but the arrival of this snake is a timely reminder for everyone to take precautions. Orange Snake Service advises householders to remove all outdoor rubbish, install draught stoppers beneath doors, fill in holes and gaps going underneath concrete slabs and to remove overgrown vegetation that sits on the ground particularly near areas where people walk. Should you see a snake don't go near it, keep pets and children away and phone your local snake service to remove it.
