Springtime Boom

Carcoar is shaking off the winter gloom and heading into a springtime boom. Thanks to a vibrant small business community and increased visitor numbers the town is experiencing something of a revival.

Improvements in the town include funding for a new ammenities block at the sports grounds, a new medical centre and cafe which is nearing completion and a facelift for the Royal Hotel.

Much needed maintenance work has also begun on the Carcoar Hospital Museum building thanks to a grant from the NSW Government Heritage-Near-Me-Program.

During rebuilding of the chimney stacks at the hospital it was discovered that one of the chimneys was fully blocked with honeycomb, most dry but some with delicious honey inside.
